BIOGRAPHY
Seolta are an exciting newly-formed girl group from Dublin and Meath, made up of experienced musicians and singers, each bringing their own unique musical contributions. They met each other through the traditional music scene and realising their potential and shared love for the music, Seolta was formed. The core group includes Caoimhe Hogarty and members of the Trad is Amach group, Ciara-Lee Jenkinson and Claire Sherry, and they will be also joined by some very special guests for their Trad fest performance!

Seolta will be performing at the Dublin Pride Night celebrating our LGBTQ+ trad and folk artists, Thursday 26th at 8.30pm in the Button Factory. This special event is a collaboration between TradFest Temple Bar, Dublin Pride and the Trad Is Amach queer trad collective. Other acts for the night include Amach is Amach, Kit Knight and the Pride Céilí Band. Seolta are;

Claire Sherry (Fiddle, Banjo and Guitar)
Dublin born Claire Sherry has had a love for music from a young age. She is an accomplished player of many instruments including fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, tin whistle and viola. She has performed in Europe and America and for the last eight years she has been invited by the Department of Foreign Affairs to visit and organize cultural exchanges in Malawi, Kenya and Ethopia. She is a highly regarded and sought after music teacher in Ireland and abroad. Claire manages over twenty musicians in the world famous Johnnie Fox’s Pub for their famous “Hooley Nights” and performs there regularly. She has guested on over 30 albums on her various instruments, most recently on Niamh Ni Charras new CD. She also ¬hosts numerous traditional sessions in venues around Dublin including The Cobblestone and Áras Chrónáin.

Ciara-Lee Jenkinson (Bodhrán and Dance)
Ciara-Lee fulfilled her lifetime dream when she joined Riverdance in 2009. She toured worldwide with Riverdance for three years and following a successful competitive career in dancing, including gold medals at Leinster, All-Ireland and World Championships. Over her career she has also danced and performed on many television shows and for many celebrities and dignitaries in over 40 countries and 5 continents. Ciara-Lee now plays and performs all over Ireland for corporate events, weddings, tourist shows and in various Dublin venues.

Caoimhe Hogarty (Vocals)
Caoimhe Hogarty is a native of Tallaght in Dublin. She is a graduate from the Traditional music performance course at Ballyfermot College in Dublin and previously, the Popular Music performance course (Rock School). Caoimhe has been singing since childhood but only developed an interest in traditional singing in her late teens. She is an exceptional singer and is blessed with the ability to take a song and make it her own. She has a keen interest in sourcing and collecting folk songs and keeping them alive.
