TradFest Temple Bar Testimonials
I’ve really enjoyed being a part of Tradfest the last two years. It’s a brilliantly-run event that celebrates the beating heart of Irish music, in the heart of Dublin.
I think the festival has incredible potential and I was thrilled to be a part of it
TradFest was where we started so it was all the more thrilling for us to perform again this year. The new venue, St Werburgh’s, was magnificent and one of the most appreciative audiences ever!
It was a truly great experience being part of the Temple Bar TradFest in 2013. The shows at St Patrick’s Cathedral were so enjoayble. The whole sense of occasion in Dublin city centre around the festival amazing. The organisers, staff and marketing team do a fantastic job in turning a dark wet January in Dublin into a truly great vibe.
Initially I was concerned about doing an open air show in temple bar in january but how wrong could I be? Wrapped up against the cold, I got a very warm reception from a really enthusiastic audience made up of everyone from children to grandparents! Very nice to be asked to sing at a TradFest!
The Temple Bar TradFest is a great way to begin any year. You can hear a thousand reels as you walk through the streets. There is a magical buzz in the surrounding area and a real good mix of different nationalities turn up to participate which gives it something unique!
I loved playing St Michan’s Church at the TradFest, we were really well looked after by the crew and organisers and that’s important, hopefully I’ll get invited back!
That is the magic of the festival, an ability to present an eclectic programme to suit all tastes and ages.
It’s great to bring our ancient treasure-trove of tradition into the city and it puts a lovely sheen on blue January which can be a very long and dark time of year.
To perform in the historic St Michan’s Church was incredible & Seemed to fit perfectly with the storytelling nature of the way I perform. I felt privileged to be associated with such a great festival which aims to champion and provide a platform for not only traditional musicians but also other artists who sometimes fall between the genre crack’s
Temple Bar TradFest is a fantastic festival, taking over wonderful historic buildings in Dublin, bringing the best musicians, both Irish and International, to play their hearts out. It was a joy to play, I loved every second.
Playing in Dublin is always a huge pleasure….& playing at St Patrick’s Cathedral was an unforgettable privilege.
A bright spot in what can be a gloomy month, expect an exciting schedule of traditional and folk artists playing gigs in venues all over the capital, including some unusual places like St Patrick’s Cathedral.
Five stars from us! 30.01.21
