TradFest Temple Bar

Our January concert series is the pinnacle of the TradFest year, featuring an array of artists at the peak of their powers in stunning, historic locations throughout the city. But there’s so much more to the festival. The Smithwicks Sessions offers an intimate alternative, with free ticketed gigs in some of Temple Bar’s most beloved pubs.  Our Showcase Nights do just that – giving the best new talent an opportunity to shine for industry insiders while TradFringe gives folks a chance to explore the interesting stuff that happens on the periphery. There’s something to surprise and delight around every cobbled corner and for the littlest visitors our friends at The Ark have arts and craft workshops to spark their imaginations.

Winter in Dublin

TradFest Temple Bar are delighted to be included as part of the Winter in Dublin campaign by Fáilte Ireland this year. Supported by Dublin City Council, the programme highlights some of the best things to do and places to visit in Dublin, aiming to raise the seasonal spirit during some of the darkest months of the year. This year’s edition of TradFest Temple Bar has been included in this campaign alongside other top attractions in Dublin including The Nightmare Realm and Winter Lights.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Aliso Gilliand said “I’m delighted to support the ‘Winter in Dublin’ programme. From ‘Winter Lights’ to ‘Tradfest’ there’s plenty on offer for everyone. Enjoy our cultural spaces, savour some good food, maybe do a bit of shopping and let’s banish the winter blues together!”

From cosy pubs in Temple Bar to Dublin landmark venues like St Patrick’s Cathedral, TradFest Temple Bar is the best place to visit in Dublin if atmosphere and authentic trad and folk music is what you are looking for.

TradFest Temple Bar & Novaerus

TradFest Temple Bar is pleased to partner again with Novaerus, of Well Air – a leading provider in air disinfection devices, in the safe delivery of our 2022 concert series. Novaerus is on a mission to reduce the spread of airborne pollutants and infection through the use of cutting edge plasma nanotechnology used in portable devices developed in Ireland in 2006. To date, these devices have been deployed in ICU wards, emergency rooms, care facilities, schools and homes in more than 60 countries worldwide.
Much more advanced and effective than standard air filtration systems which simply collect live pathogens, allowing them to breed, Novaerus units utilise their patented technology, NanoStrike, to deactivate and destroy harmful airborne bacteria and viruses.
Novaerus disinfection devices played a major role in enabling TradFest Temple Bar 2021, a streamed online event, to take place. Having considered a range of air sanitisation solutions, Novaerus’ technology exceeded the requirements for the event to go into production. The units helped not only to secure venues but to ensure the safest possible environment for musicians and event staff. As we return to live audiences, the safety and wellbeing of guests and performers remains a top priority. As such we have committed to maintaining the highest standard of health and safety for TradFest Temple Bar 2022 by rolling out Novaerus disinfection units in all of our venues.
